Master the movement. Not just the choreography.

Technique & Drills is where we slow things down, break things apart, and repeat until the movement becomes natural in your body.

Because mastery comes from repetition.

This class focuses on developing and refining your Samba vocabulary through drills, detailed corrections, repetition and technical exploration. Rather than constantly learning new choreography, you'll have the time to understand howeach movement works and build the coordination needed to execute it with more precision and ease.

We’ll explore different Samba techniques with a strong focus on:

  • Samba no pé technique & footwork

  • Hip mobility and freedom of movement

  • Weight transfers and coordination

  • Body isolations and movement mechanics

  • Different Samba vocabulary and variations

  • Precision and control

  • Repetition to create muscle memory

The goal is simple: to become better at what you already know while continuing to expand what your body can do.

Why train with Rapha?

Rapha’s teaching combines years of professional performance, continuous training and a deep interest in understanding how movement works in the body.

Her approach goes beyond showing you what to do. She breaks movement down so you can understand how to create it, where it comes from, and what may be limiting you — especially when it comes to hip mobility, coordination and Samba technique.

Expect detailed corrections, lots of repetition and the space to really work.

The perfect complement to Conditioning for Samba

Technique gives you the movement. Conditioning gives your body the capacity to execute it.

Training both allows you to immediately connect the technical work from the first class with the strength, stability and endurance developed in the second.

CONDITIONING FOR SAMBA

19:45–21:00
With Rapha
📍 Studio Accento
Intermediate & Advanced

Build a body that supports your Samba.

Conditioning for Samba was inspired by Rapha’s own journey of strengthening her body for her profession as a dancer.

Through consistent strength and conditioning work, she experienced a major change not only in how her body felt, but in how she danced — more control, more stability, more endurance and a greater physical capacity to execute movement.

This class brings that experience directly into Samba training.

Using small weights, resistance and different fitness accessories, we’ll work on the physical qualities that support your dancing while keeping the exercises connected to the demands of Samba.

Expect to develop:

  • Strength and muscular endurance

  • Core stability and control

  • Stronger legs, ankles and feet

  • Hip strength and mobility

  • Balance and stability

  • Cardiovascular endurance

  • Greater control and power in your movement

This isn't about training like a bodybuilder. It's about strengthening your body to become a more capable dancer.

Why pair it with Technique & Drills?

You can understand a movement technically, but your body also needs the strength, mobility and endurance to execute it consistently.

Technique & Drills teaches the body what to do.
Conditioning for Samba prepares the body to do it better.

Together, the two classes create a complete training approach: technique + repetition + strength + mobility + endurance.
