Samba Beginner Level 1

This class is built to discover the foundations of the basic step and explore the vocabulary and language of Samba. We also learn about this dance's culture, history, and origins. We teach you the importance of alignment and good posture while discovering new moving methods.
14-week Samba class starting on :

Expect a structured and immersive experience in Samba dance, covering both technical aspects and cultural context! This 14-week class focuses on mastering the basic steps, exploring Samba vocabulary, and learning about its rich culture and history. Improve your posture and alignment while discovering new dance techniques. Classes run every Wednesday from April 17th to July 24th, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Studio Cas Public.
Note: Classes move outdoors after May 29th, with no class on July 3rd.

Samba Beginner Level 2 / Intermediate

This class is designed for individuals who have either completed the Samba Beginner 1 course or possess a basic understanding of the steps. It serves as a transition between the beginner and advanced levels, focusing on delving deeper into the rhythm, introducing new elements to enhance one's Samba technique, and refining overall presence as a dancer. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their vocabulary of movements and cultivate a greater sense of comfort and fluidity in their dancing.

The Passista Training Program

JuntaSamba's Passista Training program is a semi-professional immersion like you’ve never seen before. Over 14 weeks, immerse yourself in training sessions held twice a week, totaling 3.5 hours of weekly engagement focused on mastering technique in heels, building confidence, refining improvisation skills, and learning choreography. Designed for aspiring Samba performers, this intimate group experience culminates in a chance to showcase your talents at a festival and dance show in Toronto. Train like a Passista in Rio de Janeiro and gain valuable knowledge on becoming a professional Samba dancer!

This is for you if you are at an intermediate level or beyond in Samba
- Weekly commitment: 3.5 hours of Samba training spread across 2 classes.
- 14-week program focused on personal growth for each dancer.
- Intimate group setting (limit of 10 people)
- A 3-hour informative Zoom meeting discussing the journey to becoming a professional artist and the realities of being a professional Samba dancer in Canada and Brazil.
- Weekly class dedicated to improvisation, choreography learning, and body conditioning, mirroring training methods of Passistas in Rio.
- Weekly class focused on mastering Samba technique in high heels.
- Performance opportunities at prestigious events like the Toronto Salsa on St-Clair Festival and at Toronto's Lula Lounge with Dance Migration.
- In-studio classes until the end of May, transitioning to outdoor sessions for Elevate & Empower classes.
- In-studio classes until the end of the session for Technique in Heels.
- Purchase of a Passista dress (Brazilian-made) at your expense ($200 to $300).
- Optional purchase of Samba high heels from Rio.
- Personalized coaching provided by Rapha during classes.
- Access to a WhatsApp support group for ongoing assistance and community connection.
- Small additional fee to perform in Toronto.
- Contract Agreement. Dancers will sign a contract clarifying program expectations, ensuring mutual understanding and commitment.
- Goal Declaration! Dancers will provide a brief letter detailing their reasons for joining and personal goals, guiding the program towards individualized growth and development.
