Expand the way you move.

Latin Fusion is designed for Samba dancers who want to develop more possibilities within their movement.

Through the exploration of Latin styles such as Salsa, Bachata and Cha-Cha, Mimi will introduce different rhythms, movement qualities and techniques that can enrich the way you understand and approach your Samba.

The goal isn't to turn your Samba into another dance style. It's to expand your movement vocabulary and give you more tools to play with, interpret music and develop your own way of moving.

We’ll explore:

  • How rhythm influences movement

  • Styling and movement quality

  • Mind-body connection

  • Confidence in improvisation

  • Turning techniques

  • Latin dance vocabulary

  • Coordination and body awareness

  • How to bring new movement possibilities into your Samba

The more movement languages you understand, the more choices you have as a dancer.

Why train with Mimi?

Mimi is a multidisciplinary performer and choreographer whose movement journey began in Latin dance and has since expanded into Samba, heels and burlesque.

With extensive experience teaching Latin and Ballroom dance, she has developed a strong understanding of movement, connection, rhythm and communication through the body.

Her teaching is rooted in passion, inclusivity, consent and self-discovery, creating an environment where dancers can explore movement with curiosity and build confidence in their own expression.

Her diverse movement background makes this class especially valuable for Samba dancers: Mimi can help you step outside your usual patterns, discover new sensations and bring a wider movement vocabulary back into your dancing.

The perfect complement to Intermediate Samba

Latin Fusion gives you new tools and movement possibilities. Intermediate Samba gives you the space to bring that awareness back into the language of Samba.

Train both to explore beyond your usual vocabulary, then deepen your Samba through technique, combinations and musicality.

Build your Samba. Find your groove.

Intermediate Samba is where dancers begin to move beyond the foundations and develop more vocabulary, coordination, musicality and confidence.

This class will challenge you with new movements and combinations while continuing to refine the technique you already have.

A major focus of Selina’s class will be musicality — learning to listen, react and dance with the music rather than simply executing steps.

And that means training with the heartbeat of Samba: the bateria.

You’ll regularly work with the sounds and rhythms of Brazilian Samba school percussion, developing a stronger understanding of how your movement can connect to what you're hearing.

We’ll work on:

  • Expanding your Samba vocabulary

  • Movement combinations and transitions

  • Coordination and body awareness

  • Musicality and rhythm

  • Training with Samba school bateria

  • Fluidity between movements

  • Confidence and expression

  • Developing your own presence within Samba

This is the level where all the pieces start connecting — technique, vocabulary, music and expression.

Why train with Selina?

Selina brings a teaching approach that combines strong Samba foundations with musicality, expression and movement quality.

Her classes encourage dancers to go beyond memorizing combinations and start understanding how to listen and respond to Samba music, particularly the different sounds and energy of the bateria.

She creates space for dancers to develop confidence while still being challenged technically — helping you become more fluid, intentional and connected to the music.

Why pair it with Latin Fusion?

Becoming a stronger dancer isn't only about learning more Samba steps.

Exploring other movement languages can improve your coordination, musical awareness, styling and ability to improvise — all qualities that can make your Samba richer.

Latin Fusion expands your movement possibilities.
Intermediate Samba teaches you how to bring depth, musicality and confidence into your Samba.

Together, they create a Tuesday training that encourages you to explore more, hear more and move with more freedom.

Drop-ins will be available after the first week of classes, subject to availability.
